When it comes to Dry Carpet Cleaning or Carpet Cleaning some people work off price and some look to see what they’re getting for their money, and you also need to like this person and believe that they can and will do a good job for you.
I get it that some people go for cheap carpet cleaning companies. If I had a 30-year-old carpet, that’s on death’s door, and I had family and friends coming to stay, then I would go cheap. But, if you’ve invested £1,500 - £10,000 having new carpets through the house, would I go for a cheap carpet cleaning company? I don’t think so. I'd want to protect my investment.
But there again, a premium price doesn’t guarantee a professional job.
When you’re looking for the best carpet care specialist, here are some questions you should ask:
1. Do you have public liability insurance?
2. How long have you been cleaning for?
3. Have you done any courses or are you qualified to clean?
4. Can the chemicals damage my carpets or upholstery?
5. Are the chemicals pet and child friendly?
6. How long will my carpet or upholstery take to dry?
7. If for some reason there is a problem with the clean, will you come back and put it right for no extra cost?
8. What pH levels are your chemicals?
The pH level of the cleaning chemicals determines if the carpet or upholstery cleaner is acidic or alkaline. Any number above pH 7 is higher in alkaline and any number below pH 7 is more acidic. pH 1 is so acidic that it will damage your carpet and an alkalinity of pH 10 will attract and trap dirt, almost like taking fluff off a jumper using sticky tape. The most pH balanced thing you deal with every day is water, which sits at about the pH neutral of 7. We’re proud because our carpet and upholstery cleaner is pH 7.
I think that any, good, carpet cleaning company feel and hope that if we are right for you, and you are happy with our efforts, then we will be your go-to carpet and upholstery care people.
Considering all the above, is price the first thing you should worry about when you get a carpet cleaning specialist in? Sometimes the answer is yes. However, when you want your upholstery and carpets professionally cared for, by someone who knows their pHs from their HPs, you now know the questions to ask us.
Let’s be fair, we all know carpet cleaning isn’t brain surgery, but you do need a strong back and be willing to work hard to try and make someone’s carpets and upholstery look the best they can.
